The Community Larder is a Partnership between Holmcroft Youth & Community Centre & Harvest Community Church.

Helping local people!

HYCC & HCC have partnered to create the Community Larder.  Its dual mission is to reduce food waste and facilitate access to good, affordable food.

About the project

When: Every Tuesday & Wednesday 10:00am – 12:00pm. Check our Facebook Page for updates on events and meetings.
Where: Holmcroft Youth & Community Centre.
Who: Everybody is welcome.
How: Our team of volunteers will help you sign up. The cost is £5 for membership for the year. If you are on benefits, membership is free.

 The Community Larder:

• Open to everyone
• No referral or personal details needed to access the larder.
• YOU choose what items you need without challenge.

How to support the Community Larder

• ‘Like’ our Facebook Page and spread the word about the project!
• Become a member!

USE IT!

• If everyone uses it then everyone feels comfortable using it.
• The best way you can support our community larder is to use it.

Even if you do not need the Community Larder; by going you give permission for others to use it too. You also help to reduce ‘food poverty stigma’ so the message is clear “there is no shame or guilt in accessing donated food.”

• We especially encourage Carers doing weekly shops for vulnerable people to use the Community Larder.

SPREAD THE WORD!

We need everyone in our community to know about the Community Larder. Mention in conversation to everyone and anyone, explain why it’s important to support it. Share the posts on social media and tag The Community Larder so people can easily find us. Be proud of this immensely important service.
